ReQuest Fixer Utility

ReQuest wav files which are copied to the MMS may exhibit an audible noise at the end of each .wav track when played through the MMS.

This issue occurs because the ReQuest .wav files are incorrectly formatted and do not adhere to the wav file specification.  We have created a utility to modify the .wav file and correct the formatting error.

Recommended Steps to Use the ReQuestFixer Utility:

We do not suggest editing the ReQuest files in place as this process will modify the file.  Make a copy of the files and work only on the copy!

  1. Transfer the ReQuest files to the MMS.  To transfer the ReQuest files to the MMS see the ReQuestTransfer.vbs available on our downloads area for help with this.

  2. Download the ReQuestFixer.exe file to a folder on a PC on the same network as the MMS.  For our example, we will assume the ReQuestFixer is saved to "c:\temp"

  3. Open a command prompt (Click Start->Run then type "CMD").  Hit <ENTER>.  A black window should appear.  Change to the directory where you saved the executable. (e.g. "cd c:\temp")

  4. Type "ReQuestFixer.exe \\MMS\Music\"  (Replace MMS with the IP address of your MMS).  Hit <ENTER>

  5. The ReQuestFixer should run against the .wav files on the MMS

  6. After it is complete, test the .wav files to determine if the problem has been corrected.
