M Series Quick Start Guide

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Quick Start Guide for the Autonomic M5 Pro and M3 Music Servers. These high-performance music servers are designed for seamless integration into residential and commercial audio systems, providing access to popular streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more. This guide will walk you through the basic setup process, including physical installation, hardware connections, system configuration, and streaming service integration.

Basic Requirements:

2. Package Contents

Ensure you have the following items before beginning the setup:

  • Music Server

  • 6ft AC Power Cord (NEMA 5-15P to IEC C13)

  • Rubber Feet (pre-installed)

  • 2x Terminal Block Connectors (pre-installed)

  • Ground Screw (pre-installed)

  • Cloth Product Bag

  • Rack mount ears and screws (optional for rack installation)

If any items are missing, please get in touch with support.

3. Installation Guidelines

Physical Placement:

  • Place the unit in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperatures below 104°F (40°C). Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or placing it on top of other heat-generating equipment.

  • Maintain Humidity below 90% RH.

  • If rack mounting, use the included rack mount ears and screws. Ensure the unit is secured.

Ventilation:

  • The M3 and M5 Pro are not ventilated and emit low amounts of heat from the chassis (136 BTU/hr max). The internal heatsinks have been over-spec’d for the most demanding environments. Units can be rack mounted with no additional space between other Autonomic Music Servers or other low-heat-generating equipment.

4. Physical Connections

Step 1: Connect Power

  • Use a grounded outlet for safety.

  • The internal power supply can accept AC voltage between 100v-240v and 50hz-60hz for international use.

  • Max power consumption is 40W

Step 2: Network Connection

  • Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch or router to the Ethernet port on the back of the unit.

  • For eAudioCast use, ensure IGMP Snooping and Multicast Filtering are turned off on the network equipment.

  • If other Dante or AES67 devices are on the network, PTP may need to be disabled on the Music Server. Please see this article for more details.

Step 3: Audio Output Connections

WARNING! To avoid damage to the equipment, please ensure that there is appropriate volume attenuation in the signal chain. This can be accomplished downstream from the Music Server or by configuring suitable limits for the output volume of the Music Server.

  • Analog Output: Connect RCA cables to your amplifier or audio system.

  • Digital Output: Use optical or coaxial connections for digital audio output.

  • eAudioCast: The M5 Pro or M3 can broadcast its audio over the network. For more information and configuration assistance, please click here.

Step 2: Access the Web Configuration Interface

  • Open a web browser on a device connected to the same network.

  • Navigate to setup.tunebridge.com

    • If you know the IP address of the Music Server, you can navigate directly to its config page by entering {ServerIP}/config in a web browser

Step 3: Network Preferences

  • Navigate to the “Network” tab.

  • Choose your preferred settings (DHCP or Static IP).

  • Click “Save” to apply changes.

Step 4: Firmware Update

  • Go to the “System” tab and check for updates.

  • If an update is available, click “Update all Devices” on the top right to install it. The unit will reboot after updating. On the M5 you can monitor update progress on the front panel screen
