HeartBleed Bug and Online Services
An encryption flaw called the Heartbleed bug is one of the biggest security threats the Internet has ever faced. The bug has exposed sensitive account information (such as passwords and credit card numbers) over the past two years across many popular websites and services.
It is not completely clear which sites have been affected.
It is good practice, from time to time, to change passwords for any/all online services. Now is a very reasonable time to do so! Even if one particular site you use is not affected, you may still be at risk if the same password was used at another affected site.
From what we gather, Spotify accounts are likely at risk due to their integration with Facebook. Amazon has said their cloud services were affected and recommends users change their passwords. Pandora has said publically they are not affected. We are not aware of any other public statements by other streaming services, but more information may be forthcoming.
Please check directly with the streaming services for the most up to the minute information.
