How to Determine Which Generation A-Series MMS You Have

Getting Started

Mirage Media Servers running First Generation MMSOS are no longer supported by Autonomic and are no longer receiving security updates and bug fixes. Follow the below instructions to determine if your MMS is running First or Second Gen MMSOS. If your MMS-2A or MMS-5A is running First Gen MMSOS, it is eligible for an operating system upgrade, which can be purchased by an Authorized Autonomic Dealer here.

  • MMS-2A

  • MMS-5A

  • SMS-2A

  • SMS-5A

The MMS-2 will only run First Gen MMSOS and cannot be upgraded to Second Gen MMSOS

Instructions

The MMS firmware is a function of the following: <Major Version>.<Minor Version>.<Date Released> . If your MMS firmware is older than 2019, please update your firmware to the latest available version. If your MMS is running a firmware version of 5.35.20191025.0 or newer, see the below parameters to determine if your MMS is running First or Second Gen MMSOS.

First Generation

  • In DealerZone, any First Generation MMS will show that it is eligible for a platform upgrade when you press the dropdown arrow next to the unit.

  • First Gen MMS units can have the following firmware versions:

    • 5.35.20210201.1 (Latest Release)

    • 5.35.20210106.0

    • 5.35.20201124.0

    • 5.35.20201005.0

  • MMS-5A with Serial Numbers lower than 311-10-1610210007

  • MMS-2A with Serial Numbers lower than 210-11-1606150016 

  • Most SMS Units will be First Gen

    • Can be confirmed if you have firmware version: 5.35.20191111.0 or 5.35.20170419.0

First Generation A-Series MMS and upgraded SMS units can now be converted to Second Generation MMSOS by Authorized Autonomic Dealers. Visit the Support Page for more info (requires valid login).

 

Second Generation

  • Second Generation MMS units can have the following firmware versions:

    • 5.35.20210916.0 (Latest Hotfix)

    • 5.35.20210128.0 (Latest Release)

    • 5.35.20210315.0

    • 5.35.20201110.1

    • 5.35.20191025.0

  • MMS-5A with Serial Numbers greater than 311-10-1610210007

  • MMS-2A with Serial Numbers greater than 210-11-1606150016
