Instructions
Download the appropriate utility from the above list.
Place the file in the root directory of a name brand USB flash drive.
For the MMS to consume the utility, the USB flash drive must be formatted with the FAT32 file system.
Insert the USB flash drive into the rear panel of the MMS.
Wait for 30-60 seconds while the MMS runs the application, then remove the flash drive.
Check the USB flash drive to verify that the tool was consumed.
Factory Reset
It is recommended to connect MMSes to a screen before factory resetting. In most cases, the MMS will show progress for the factory reset on screen.
On eSeries and M Series servers, this utility is generally not needed, as there is a factory reset button located on the rear of the unit. The factory reset procedure utilizing the button is the same on eSeries and M Series. See the Quick Start Guide for instructions.
The Factory Reset utility will, when installed, initiate an MMS's factory reset procedure. The steps of the factory reset procedure depend on the generation of MMS. This process can take up to 10 minutes.
Network Info
The Network Info utility queries MMSes for network information, and creates a text file with that information on the USB drive.
Reset to DHCP
The Reset to DHCP utility sets the MMS' DHCP configuration setting to true regardless of the previous configuration.
Remote Support
The Remote Support utility sets the Get Support configuration setting to true using the code in the name of the utility. The Get Support setting allows Autonomic Technical Support to access connected MMSes remotely and view the system logs for advanced troubleshooting.
