Configure server to answer ping requests made across subnet
Configure server to answer ping requests made across subnet
In order for the MMS to reply to ICMP requests made from a different subnet, a windows firewall rule must be changed.
We need to make inbound AND outbound rules:
Enable Ping on Windows 7:
Control Panel / System and security / Windows Firewall / Advanced settings / Inbound rules / New rule / custom rule
On the left-- choose Protocol and ports: Protocol: ICMPv4
Choose 'customize', choose "Specific ICMP types", check the box "echo request"
Select next twice, then finish.
